We learned in PDC course that the ancient Chinese farmers built fancy outhouses along the roadways beside eir farms to entice travellers to deposit their humanure; the farmers were competing with each other for the ‘honour’. Modern times we are phobic about it. Jenkins wrote Humanure Handbook to educate us all.

Thanks Ian! Very interesting! I didn’t know about such practice. Is PDC course “Permaculture Design Course”?

yes PDC is that, sorry for the jargon. I took it several times: last one with Albert B in Belize. Peter Bane is my main teacher/mentor over the years. See his book The Permaculture Handbook, Garden Farming for town and country.
